The tanto is treated as a complete composition rather than a reduced katana. Curvature, kissaki length and mounting depth are reviewed together to keep the proportions deliberate at close range.
Kuroha uses a pronounced kyosori profile to create a compact object with a strong silhouette. The T10 blade is clay tempered, hand polished and mounted with iron fittings, silk wrap and a dark urushi-style saya.
