The Story

Material first.
Purpose throughout.

The commission began with a simple brief: let the steel carry the visual weight. Ornament is concentrated at the tsuba and fuchi-kashira, while the remaining surfaces stay dark and tactile. Each example is assembled and checked in Longquan before export preparation.

Solar Bloom pairs a 73 cm folded-steel blade with carved copper fittings and an ebony-finished saya. The geometry is kept visually calm: a clean shinogi, moderate sori and a polish intended to reveal the layered hada without an exaggerated mirror finish.

01

Blade & metallurgy

The folded billet is drawn and consolidated to create a visible flowing grain. Final geometry and polish are completed after heat treatment so the shinogi and kissaki remain clearly defined.

02

Mountings & materials

Copper fittings receive layered dark, silver and warm patinas. The tsuka is shaped for an oval section and wrapped over samegawa panels for a firm, legible grip.

03

Custom options

Steel, blade length, sori, tsuba, wrap colour and saya finish can be specified. We confirm a written build sheet before production begins.

04

Care & delivery

Keep the blade dry and lightly oiled. The sword ships in fitted protective packaging; import requirements and carrier availability depend on the destination.
